LevelUp Levels Up their Daily Deal Service

LevelUp began as a daily deal site like Groupon and LivingSocial, and today has (re)launched in a new format. It is now a new and innovative service that you use to pay with while receiving automatic credit at participating businesses in Boston, Philadelphia, New York City, and San Francisco. They have really simplified and streamlined the "deal" process.

  • Try new places with up to $20 in free credit to spend on whatever you want
  • The transaction will apply any credit first before charging the remaining amount to the credit card linked to your account
  • There is no minimum purchase amount; you can spend your free credit $1 and leave
  • You do not need to purchase or apply for a credit; just show up and pay with LevelUp to receive it
  • Each time you go back pay with LevelUp and you'll progress towards unlocking more credit
  • You will get a unique QR code and each merchant has a device to scan it
  • Apps are available for iOS and Android
  • Physical LevelUp cards can be sent by mail if you don't have a phone

The program seems to good to be true and it is so simple. The reason it is, is that businesses use the service to bring in new customers and to keep them coming back. I can't wait to try it next time I am in Boston.

(LevelUp is part of SCVNGR which is invested in by Google Ventures and others.)
