Facebook for Every Phone Launches

It was only a matter of time for Facebook to make use of its acquisition of Snaptu. The technology allows them to offer a version of Facebook on over 2,500 different phones that are not in the "smart phone" category. The Facebook for Every Phone app will be available on Java-enabled phones today, with it being available on other handsets later. This move will vastly expand their mobile engagement and therefore use of the social network in general.

You can download the Facebook app by visiting m.facebook.com and scrolling down to the download link, or by going directly to d.facebook.com/install using your mobile browser. You can also find it in many app stores like GetJar, Appia, and Mobile Weaver. Data cost are involved, but Facebook has work with many carriers to allow for a 90 day free trial (more info).
